Kortlahn Ballard
2024

Born and raised in Houston, Texas to a loving and supportive family, Kortlahn has always been an advocate for health promotion. She attended Texas Tech University and quickly captured the title Miss Black Texas Tech University during her freshman year. She used this title to promote health and wellness throughout her university. She went on to graduate from Texas Tech Health Science Center with a Master’s in Public Health.

Today, Kortlahn is an Epidemiologist for the Oklahoma City-County Health Department serving her community the best way she knows how, by providing guidance on how to best address their health needs. Through her work at the Oklahoma City County health department, she has seen firsthand the gaps in health knowledge that are growing within the community and intends to fill them with her platform.

Kortlahn is continuing her enthusiasm for health promotion with her program “Let’s Talk About it;” is a multi-media campaign that is spreading accurate health information to the community.
